Freya Alexander is a local queer artist originally from Australia living in València. Working in a variety of styles, all of her paintings explore the quality of being. She investigates how the body interacts with itself, with others, and within spaces in a celebratory way. Her recent paintings are inspired by her neighborhood, El Cabanyal. This inspiration is most direct in her bright and joyous images of sunsets and skies that she has seen during walks on the beach.
She is also influenced by the unique colors and textures of the houses in her area, which directly inform her abstract works. Her figurative works represent moments of quiet intimacy, far from the chaos of the streets.
