RADIO CITY VLC’s more established programming based on Flamenco (every Tuesday for more than 20 years) and Reagge (every Wednesday for more than a decade) remains solidly established in the venue’s calendar. With its sights set on several directions, the venue’s programming is nourished by two main avenues: Quality international music and local and national proposals.<\/p>\n
International music has always had a space on RADIO CITY VLC, last year we started VierneX. Although in this new season they are not limited exclusively to that day (Fridays) if we try to end the week – or start the weekend, depending on how you look at it – with international musicians. Many of them students from the prestigious Berklee School of Music, which has a campus in Valencia. . Some of the artists who will be future music professionals at different levels of success pass through its classrooms \u2013 and our stage Their sound landscapes range from Neo Soul, Nu Jazz, Funk, Folk-Rock or Indeotronic… And it is in our room where they begin to carve out a background and an experience on stage, living with the audience just a few centimeters away, the magic of the live music. . We have always found the local and national proposals very interesting, both in terms of quality and variety. Furthermore, we have detected that there is a lack of circuit of medium-sized venues that can offer artists and the public a platform to make themselves known or meet new artists. The impression is that either you were a new group that could play in a room with a capacity of less than 50 people or the capacity has already shot up to over 500… and that has never seemed fair to us. These groups are very diverse, from Rock, through Indie, Pop, Electronic, Rockabilly or we even program ‘tribute bands’ in the afternoon to allow for better family conciliation.<\/p>\n
Among the novelties of the season and activities with an eye on the future of the audience in our room, we have a monthly Hip Hop night, we hold events for students like the one we held last month with the ‘welcome party’ for the students of the EASD (Higher Art School of Design) and we continue to accommodate proposals such as ‘Shake Your Belly’ (belly dancing), laughter therapy activities and ‘Stand Up Comedy’ shows .
